I met her 3 Days ago, and fell in love! She is just SO sweet and Adorable, and so TINY.
She's 5 years old, and just had her 3rd calf.
Will be Re-Bred at the End of July / Early August, whenever she goes into Season.
She's 1/2 Jersey, and 1/2 Hereford (I think).
Her name is Nellie-Belle.
She's going to be joining our family in about 2 months or so, after we move into our new home, and Hubby has time to build her a nice shelter and fence in her designated area.
I got to practice my "Milking Skills" on her, since I have not used them in over 15 years, it was hard to get started! LOL But I did manage to get about 1/4 of a small yellow bucket out before I thought my hands were going to fall off! LOL :lol2:
If anyone has any tips on how to milk faster, learn faster, etc, please :help: share, because I officially SUCK at it..!!!
I just hope that eventually, I will get as fast as the Farmer who is selling her to us..!!! LOL
(Then again, I haven't milked anything since I was 14, so almost 16 years now! LOL)
We don't have a pasture for her (as we only have an acre), but her diet will consist of Hay, Alfalfa, Pellets, Grain, crushed Barley, and occasional crushed/smashed vegetables/fruit. And fresh Grass hubby will cut each week with a non-powered mower. LOL
 We are VERY excited to be getting her!
FIRST thig she is getting when we bring her home is a BATH, and a GOOD Brushing cause OMG.!!!
Anyhow, here are some Pictures of Nellie.
