Yellow weeds

What is recommended for spraying these things and at what time of year? My pasture has them popping up everywhere now after the fertilize has kicked in. I see them everywhere here in Alabama and most people either arent concerned with them or its too early to spray. Any advice?

We call em DYF's........damn yellow flowers. I tried to research the ones I see in pastures here last year. Lots of yellow flowers is what I discovered

I believe it's the same thing as in the pics from the baldies everywhere thread. I'm not too up to date on my weeds to be honest. I will see if I can get some pics up.

what they are is buttercup plowers they for only seem to come in pastures that are really short in my area.

Probably buttercup and since they are blooming it is way too late for the spraying to work well. Save your money and next spring spray early.

I don't know where you are at but down south the wild mustard or as some people call them "yellow tops" are blooming big time in the ryegrass field's.

It's not to late trust me! And, you better get a handle on them quick. They will flat take over. 2 pints/acre of 2/4-d will work. I sprayed mine last year at about the stage you all are talking about and don't have nearly as many this year, but gonna spray again. Grass came back after the kill, those little buttercups suck a lot of water and nutrients.

Interesting how many varieties. Some fields are so thick you wonder if they process them into something.

Southern states tells me it's too late to spray them, a farmer tells me it is not. In going to have to pay someone to do it as I don't have the equipment do I don't want to spend the money if it won't work. It will be another month before southern states can spray too do it looks like that may not be an option. These things literally exploded once the litter hit the ground.

Jallen get you a hand help sprayer mix in some 2,4-d and walk to an area and test a 4x4 square or something and see if they die.. .If they did pay someone to spray if they don't wait till next year just my opinion

One weeds bloom it's pretty late for any real success. It will kill the plant but most weeds will still set viable seed even after the plant dies. For annual weeds it won;t do jack and for those that bloom several times a year a new crop of weeds will just come up to replace what you killed.

Looks like bitter weed to me. 2/4D will do the job, but it will also kill next years clover if you don't let it go to seed.
