what you gotta do! We needed to put hay out today. Snowstorm coming and they had already cleaned up where we moved the ring, so it HAD to be done today. Our tractor is down for the count, it needs the engine overhauled. We have a 90's F350 diesel pickup bought cheap and it has become our hay mover. It has a spike on the back with electric winch to raise and lower and works great. Except for this morning when the starter apparently went out. BIL's skid loader is kept here, but it has a hydraulic problem and won't lift. 3 strikes, we're out. But Mr MO_cows had a stroke of genius. We tipped a bale onto our tow dolly (using the armstrong method) and used that to deliver it to the cows. He had to go easy to keep it from tipping off, and luckily we are on flat ground, but it WORKED. Battery was dead on the camera or I would have taken a picture.
