Wrong cow

So I bought one cow at the sale on Thursday. My truck is in the shop. B had told me to go ahead and buy and he would get whatever I bought home. So this afternoon he pulls in with the trailer. They loaded up the wrong cow. B said the sale yard kid assured him it was the right cow. Hmmm hard to get good help these days. I bought a 4 month bred red Angus cow with back tag #561. The loaded up a 3 month bred brindle cow with a bad udder and waspy carrying #549. It is 150 miles round trip to the sale. B has a wedding to go to this afternoon so he is going to unload our waspy friend at his corral and take her back for exchange tomorrow. I am sure none of you ever heard of a screw up from the sale yard before.

Hope that gets straightened out for you.
A few weeks ago we went to a sale, they were selling ten pairs of BWF cows with either black or BWF calves. They were trying to sell them in groups of 2 pairs, and they weren’t very confident that they had them matched up right. After several attempts, they decide the best way to be sure was to void out the three groups they sold and bring all 10 pairs back in the ring to sell as one lot. They brought $5100 per pair.

I feel like that's like sending food back. What you get back may be worse than what you refused.
There is a young (to me) lady who owns and runs this sale. She was the bookkeeper until the old guy who did have it got sick and sold it to her. She does a great job. Much better than to old guy. My thought was why make a hassle for her. I am sure that it will pay off for me in the long run.
But still. Those dang Canadian cow thievs making off with my cow. She was a good red Angus cow from a well known ranch.

I had the sale barn misplace two calves that I took to the sale. At the time I only had about twenty cows so I am sure my the numbers that I took to the sale was right. They did make it right. At that time I didn't tag the calves; I now won't send anything to the sale without an ear tag.

Well you know, if you hadn’t started the rustling those fine Canadians would not have had to resort to it themselves. See what you started?

I have never had a Canadian cow in my life. Probably been 20 years since I was in Canada. Back in the 70's when I was chasing rodeos I went north a fair amount. I do recall one evening in Kerermous BC when a fine Canadian Indian decided we should all play cowboys and Indians. He started the contest by hitting me in the back of the head while I was sitting at a table having a drink. I guess I wasn't supposed to be drinking all the Canadian beer.

I did not suggest that you have ever had a Canadian cow.

Hmmmmmm? I started? It was a sale yard mix up. I should have taken a picture of the fine cow they left for me. I don't know who bought them or where they were going other than I was told they went to Canada. I was also told that this buyer bought 2 out of the bred cow pen and a bunch out of the kill cow pen. Is there a cow slaughter house somewhere in Canada buying cows down here? How close to the border is that plant?

"Well you know, if you hadn't started the rustling cattle those fine Canadian people would not have had to resort to it themselves. See what you started?"

There. Fixed it. My apologies for trying to have some fun.

My apologies too. I thought you and Gcreek were taking something seriously which I was doing in jest.

And it was the kids at the sale yard who screwed up loading the cows wrong.
