The scariest bridges I have ever been on are the Macanack, (I think that's how you spell it, pronounced "Macanaw") bridge between the upper and lowed peninsulas in Michigan, and the bridge that goes over the Mississippi River in Cairo, Illinois. It is too darned early to be up spelling!!!

Anyway, I have a dread fear of heights. I mean, my legs go rubber on me. Even when I see someone on television climbing something really high. I don't even like some of the hiway overpasses around here. I am thinking of the overpass from I20 to I35 in Fort Worth. I have been on that thing when traffic is stopped and you can feel it moving. I thought I was going to come outa my car and run for it. :shock: It isn't very fun in the ice, either.
 
:shock: :shock: I'd have to be drunk and my eyes would have to be closed. Just kidding. That would get your heartrate up for sure - kinda like driving in Atlanta.
 
Wouldn't bother me.

You'd be just as dead if you drove off of a 75-100 ft bridge.

On this one, you'd have more time to live while you are on the way to the ground.
 
When it snowed in he11 would I drive over that bridge. :shock:

Lammie, I used to have to drive that I20/I35 overpass when I went to UTA. And, like you, i've been caught in traffic while on the very top. You are right...you can feel it move!

That was when I was driving my little Tracker. In high wind and ice and heavy rain, I drove way out of my way to avoid it. You ain't lived 'til you've been hit by a wind gust stuck up on that overpass in a 1996 Tracker. Oy vey!

Sorry couldn't get me on it. It is not the heighth that scares me it is the sudden stop at the end of the fall.

I have to do that bridge every few weeks - scare the dickens out of me. I was on the phone the last time I needed to make that bridge and forgot to exit, so I went down to the next exit and came back from the other direction and was able to take the lower bridge. It was worth the extra mile or two!!
 
That picture is cool, but even looking at it, makes me nervous, I might be able to be a passenger in a car, on the inside lane, but I highly doubt i could ever drive over it myself. I got this weird thing where it makes me feel funny going over high bridges and overpasses, my hands hang on tight on the steering wheel, and my palms get sweaty, it feels like I'm going to fall off, or the car will fall off. Sure wish I could conquer that fear someday. My sister has the same problem, only she has to take nauseous pills just too drive long distances, and my Mom use to get seasick real bad, and could never drive on roads, going uphill, with drop offs on each side. I wonder if this is a true condition or just a fear?

When I was a kid we use to play on the Narrows Bridge in Tacoma. It is about 300 feet above the water. We would climb over the rail and all sorts of stupid things. Makes a chill go up my spine just thinking about it now. So I would drive over that bridge if I needed to but it wouldn't be a pleasant experience.

The crazee things we did as kids, wonder why it changed? That would be a good question to post, what crazee things we all did as kids?

I would love to take a ride across that bridge. Only thing is I would have a hard time trusting someone else to drive so I could be a passenger and look around, so I'd have to drive and then I'd miss a lot of the viewing pleasure.

heck no i wouldnt go any where near that thing!! I cant walk or drive over our bridge with out my heart like stopping!! We went over this huge(long) bridge, in like Mississippi or some southernly state. I had my eyes glued shut and was holding on to my brother squeezing the life out of him. Bridges just scare me, i guess its the hieght.
