Is it safe to work with dectomax shortly after your cows have had the worming blocks? I forgot to ask my vet this when we were going over my vaccination plans today. I used the blocks about 10 days ago--my vet gave me a bottle of dectomax that he wants me to begin worming with. I flat forgot about recently using the blocks. He also suggested that I give them the pour on ivomec when I get them in the chute this week, it just seems like alot at once. Does anyone else use an injectible wormer and a pour on at the same time? From reading the labels it looks like they are for many of the same parasites?

Never have seen a need for it. One or both must be worthless to ahve to use both and you'll never know which one worked adn which one didn't.

My vet had me use injectable Ivomec Plus and we tubed them with Valbezon at the same time. I have never researched Dectomax, but Ivomec has a wide safety margin for dosage. Don't know much about the blocks either.
Your vet is probably wanting to treat internal and external parasites at the same time.

Ive used both with no problems. I will tell you the alcohol base pour on will catch fire if you hit the animal with a hotshot right after you pour it on.
Oh my I never thought of that!
