Not sure which board to put this on. I'm reworking my head gate and working chute. What is a good width for the chute?

Do a search for chute and width. Its been discussed many times on here. I use a commercial adjustable workign chute one myself.

Our chutes and alleys are 29 inches, sorting gathering pens are 10 X 20 feet

when i built an all steel corral.i put my chute at 28in wide.any wider an the cows will try to turn around on you.

I was thinking 26". I've referenced the Ar. extension book on chutes and head gates range from 18" to 22" for calves and 22' to 28" for cows. Just curious about what everyone was using. Thanks for the input.

26 might be a little tight for one or two and it will depend on when you work them. It should work just fine for most. I'd rather mine be 26 than 30 inches.
