Wolves Delisting

Been following the delisting of the gray wolves here in the west. Most of us can hardly wait.
Well came out that five Senators on this committee have signed a letter in favor of NOT removing the wolf from the ESA.

George Miller-D. California
Norm Dicks-D. Washington
Wayne Gilcherest-R. Maryland
Jim Saxton-R. New Jersey

This is not a post to start a political debate.

It is too bad that these men do not have to worry about their animals or pets and have never lost an animal from a wolf attack. I wouldn't wish these animals on any person in their home states.
Sad day for the western states that have these animals.

Well there was the first person who shot a wolf here in MT. He got a prison sentence and a hefty fine. All the cattle and sheep producers cheered him. Now it's been awhile so I am not going to guess what all he got as punishment, but after that SSS really came into being. If he had kept his mouth shut no one would have ever known who shot that wolf.

People just need to be informed. Met an older couple in Yellowstone park and started talking to them about wolves. They thought they were great til i pulled out the pictures I took of our calf that had been killed by a wolf. They were stunned.
Just start giving them the information and watch them learn.
There is an ag paper I get and they started getting letters from 4th graders back east telling us that we need to leave the wolves alone and too bad about our animals, but it was our fault for being there. Well after the furor died down, took about 4-5 years,(kept getting letters every year) at the end of that time the kids letters changed to why did the people who brought back the wolves not realize that the wolf was a killer and needed to be controled. Have not read anymore letters in support of the wolf. :clap:

Isn't it frustrating. I have to deal with a few species on occassion. Used to, we worked around them and left them what seemed to be adequate habitat. Unfotunately, this practice was illegal even though the animals thrived.
