Heading to central Texas on a big buck hunt I have booked.
I posted these pics back in September when I went scouting the place out.
Got pic's on some nicer bucks with my camera they just didn't come out good at 100 yards.
These boys were about 25 yards away. I am looking for a tall tine one to put on the wall.
Already started packing and rechecking all my gear and wishing my life away for Thursday to get here.

I would love to just watch bucks that look that good. But I have a dumb question about the bucks in the picture. Two of the bucks in the picture looks like have no vetvet but the third is in full velvet. Am I looking at it wrong?

Your right there were several running around with it hanging off like burlap bags.
These pics were taken in Sept when they were just starting to loose their velvet.

The weather nor the moon should hinder you this week. I hope you have some real success buddy!

Could be interesting for CB. Of course I don't know where he is going, and that "central Texas" is bigger than most states :D . Took a stab at what looked to be most geographical center to me. Stay warm CB

Good luck CB.. sounds like a good time. and with the weather changing, should be good to make those bucks move around.

Oh they have warm blinds with nice swivel chairs.
The best part about the whole trip is I don't have to drive, youngest son and I are going.
I might snooze a little on I-10 headed west.

Sounds like a great hunt, I know you'll cherish the time on the hunt with your boy.

Good luck and post pics.

Alan
