Wire spooler

I’ve borrowed neighbours Levelwind wire spooler and quite liked them, but decided to try this style. I need to wind up a few miles of barbed wire this spring and wanted something robust so will give this a try. Hope it will pull hard.

I built one similar few years back to go on my post hole powerhead, it'll pull harder than the wire will handle. I rolled up about 8 miles of wire last summer in no time flat, and left it in a nice tight roll to haul to the scrap yard.

The fence builder here last summer had one mounted on the front of a skid steer. It was cone shaped. When full just lay it on its side, pull a pin that held the bottom plate, and lift it up. The cone shape allowed the spooled wire to fall right off.

This is cone shaped as well, and I will be using it on my skid steer.

They did 4 strands at the same time. Said they could do a quarter mile at a shot. They set in the middle and had wire coming from both directions.
