Winter must be really on it's way. Skeins of geese have been passing over all night and still this morning

4-5 inches of snow yesterday- Now the temp is 2 Below---Yep winter might flat be here...Not supposed to get out of the teens today for a high BUT

the weather boys are predicting temps back in the 40's by Saturday and maybe even 50's next week.....

I saw a flock going over last week. Thought it might be a bit early, maybe were in for winter sooner than expected. I check the jet stream quite frequently and when it appears to be coming down the east side of the rockies we're in for a cold snap.

Back in the summer when we had the 107 degree days, I was anxious for winter to get here. Now that it's 40 degrees and the north wind whipping, I'm not so sure. I'd like for us to have a really cold and wet winter this year. But the experts aren't forecasing that for this year.

Gee,it 's supposed to get down to 56 tomorrow during the day, nights in the 40s--50s all week,so our 2 months of winter are almost here..If it gets cold enough, mabe the roses will go dormant and I can prune them. Havent gotten to for 2 years. Gonna make Shepards pie tonight (my version)..Mabe stew and cornbread another night..

I've already seen 4 good size flocks of geese this morning
all very high up and heading south!
but with the winds here they shouldn't have to exert too much energy - just ride the current and be at the gulf in a couple of hours :)

Well- you'all down south get ready for a whole lot more...Looks like this weather we been having is getting them thinking about warmer climates...
This morning the skies and stubble fields were filled with geese- couldn't hardly hear yourself think for all the racket-- and then a couple of my old dogs thought they should howl back at them...

It's winter already here, and there were still a few flocks of geese flying over this weekend.

Northern parts of AB got a ton of snow (about 45-50 cm up near Peace River/Grande Priarie), including us around the Athabasca/Barrhead area...got over 30 cm, seemed more like 40 than 30...

I'm gonna gets some pics on here this weekend, if I remember to take my DC with me home...

Just a dusting here...did put the tank heaters in...down to 11 degrees last night. Had a 100 gal ice cube last year when one of the steers pulled the heater out.
Yeah, I know I spoil them and when it gets down to zero Susie makes me put the calves in the barn...she doesn't have to swing the fork in the morning.
