Due to the drought I am fencing off several acres of woods with a small field in it. The wooded area has tons on wild cherry trees, many of which I have cut down along the fence line. My question is how dry do the leaves need to be before I turn the cattle into this area? I know they are toxic when wilted but if they are crumby dry, are they safe for cattle? I would think they would not want to eat them when the leaves are that dry but I have seen them eat things like candy that one would think they would walk past. Thanks in advance for your advice.
