WHY MODERATOR?

Why must every post go through moderators first? I am a member of many forums and this is the only one that you have to have every post and reply approved first. How come the moderators just go though the posts after they have been submitted or rely on the members to let you know when a post is not appropriate? I am new to this forum so please just fill me in!

It is only for the first 5 posts, once the user name changes color to red all posts are done in real time. The two primary reasons are to eliminate the spammers and the hit and miss porn posters. Most members by the time they have 5 posts have been proven to be legitimate posters.

There has been some ugly things appear before. I am not talking about casual porn either.

They do a great job here.
