why do posts disappear

Has this ever happened to you? you get a notice to say someone has posted an answer, and then you get the message
'This topic or post you requested does not exist'
I just got it to 'have you ever wondered what's to much' I looked and it has gone, where to and why? does anyone know??????

I've seen that, too. I think sometimes people post something, then think better of it and go back and delete it later. I've done this once or twice myself. Or sometimes I suppose a moderator may delete a post they feel is inappropriate.
