Whole Corn?

We have access to whole corn at $150 for 2500#. We've always used it as deer feed but is there value in feeding it to our cattle/weaned calves?

It's great to feed, use it on the calves and let the deer fend for themselves.

That's cause city folks use it in deer feeders. I use it for that too but I buy it at half the price cause I get it at the feed store. But the turkeys and squirrels get a whole lot more of it then the deer do

True We cut corn and i normally dump some on sides of fields and all I see in following days is squirrels making trips back and forth and turkeys filling themselves . I like food plots better and mineral licks those the deer like too.

Sure there is! Corn is only about 8% protein, but it is a high energy feed that will put weight on if fed correctly. Personally, I would not feed it whole as it can be very hard on teeth, but that is your decision. I would steam roll it or have it cracked - not ground. Grinding it increases the chances of one animal getting to much, and developing acidosis.
