I think it would be very hard to get a calve to eat grain that it was not used to eating. Amazing they would not name the grain. Just read it and discuss what was happening. Had he been poisoning gophers and they got into some grain on the ground. Who knows a lot of thoughts and theories that do not add up.

That's really strange.. Helluva long read, could have skipped a bit of the adjectives in there.

Long story short, Dead calves, grain in their stomachs, death count up to 18 now over quite a few years, they've really tried everything I could think of to find out what's going on.

I would have put up cameras.

Was he feeding range cubes the calves may have picked up some cubes and everything digesting but the grain. They never did say how much grain. My thoughts were they were drinking out of that cesspool of a pound and caught Coccidiosis. Or maybe
salmonella and e coli infection. They never did mention what kind of grain.

""Grain" is used loosely when referring to feed. Cubes contain very little if any grain but a lot of grain by-products which are normally extremely safe to feed. Had to be something they could get the calf to consume while being able to either keep it away from the cows or it was harmless to the cows. Strange indeed
