my name is Todd and i have a question whitch breed is god to cross with the longhorn and is the shorthorn a good breed to raise

Charolais is probably the best to cross with a longhorn, adds meat and since they are longhorn cows you don't need to worry about calving ease...

Shorthorns are crossed frequently with angus and hereford. makes a good cows, and if you get the roan off of them they sell well too... as long as they don't look to show-like. Those seem to get docked around here.

Todd - judging from your user name, I'd say the best breed would be corriente. There's usually a pretty good market for good dogging and roping stock. You could lease them out or sell them. Just make sure they have a good horn base.

I heard that no matter what you do a corriente will never bring more than 300 dollars in any sale barn in the country.
