You think that's depressing....I'm from the dairy state and we are #10! Just driving down the road around here, its easy to see why we are #10. The only dairies left are the big factory farm types, almost no mom and pop 50 head dairies left. I can think of 8 of those huge dairies within a half hour drive from my house, but precious few of the small ones. Same is happening to beef in our area.
 
#9? That's not bad, lot of cattle here, that's why we have four sale barns in less than 30 minutes of drive away from us. Major beef land here than dairies.

You sure with the drought CP that will happen? My sister lives in Phelan, and they were evacuated yesterday because of the fire in the pass. Hubby (retired Cal Fire after 26 years) is chomping at the bit wanting to get back in the action, but it looks like CA is going to have another rough year of it.

I'm in a good water area. Everything except one parcel is tentatively spoken for. Anything with water here is an easy sell. With as many exchanges as I'm trying to do it could go south fast at any point in time but so far it sure looks like smooth sailing right now. :D
