I need a few days without rain so's I can get the first crop of hay cut, baled, and in the barn. :P

Do I see any raised hands?

ME ME ME!!! North Central Texas, please. Directly over Alvarado! For a couple of days, if you can. Gawd, I am so sick over the lack of rain I don't know what to do.

It's been six weeks here in Alabama without out rain so I would love to have it BUT, our brothers west of us need it more.....send it to them.

Brace yourself Milkmaid. There isn't any high pressure blocking off the North Pacific so they just keep spinning in here. It rained here yesterday and it is supposed to rain hard on Friday and Saturday. You know which way we send the rain clouds when we are done with them. I figurre that it will be raining again in your area by Sunday evening.

Do you want an actual street address or just a region? I can give you both.

well Milkmaid...I think you might need to put a pricetag on that rain...looks like some of these people would pay a good bit for some of that rain :) ...you can make a fortune selling some rain clouds

We're getting pretty dry here, but don't need it as bad as a lot of others. Best give it to those folks that have been suffering for the last couple of years.

Still have rain here. We just had 3 days without rain for the first time in about 3 weeks. But it was cloudy on two of them. Rained all day today. The fields need at least 3 days of dry windy weather before we can get on them. A 2300 hundred cow dairy nearby has lost a couple hundred acres of alfalfa. When and if we get started the quallity is going to be poor. It isn't as bad as a drought, but we are having losses.

It rained off and on all day today - sure wish I could send this south to ya'll for a while. I need a full week without rain to cut and bale that hay. Boss does it the smart way; puts his up as silage. Cut one day, bale and bag the next. I prefer my hay put up dry, but it means I have to deal with the weather.

At this rate I won't have first cutting done until July.

Well, if it's any consolation, you have lots of company! It's rained every afternoon for the last 2+ weeks here - not enough to do much good, just enough to mess up first cutting.  We finally had to stack it damp because it was killing the field.

Thanks for the rain! It rained here Saturday morning, just a showe, but late Sat. night we got about 2 inches.

Oh thank Heaven!!!! Maybe this will break the cycle!!!

I have baled hay on Thanksgiving day the last two years due to rain. This year I will probably be baling on Thanksgiving day because it took that long for it grow enough to cut due to lack of rain.

Glad ya'll are getting that rain! :D It's been dry here since Friday, had the hay cut Saturday morning, and I should have it baled by Wednesday or Thursday -- I need to go take a look at how it's drying.

(And after that, you can give me my rain back. :P :lol2:)

We could sure use some rain. It rained a little last week and the lightning started eleven fires in my area. I saw one start and then the rain put it out. There are fires every day, one that is 20-30 miles south of me is 10,000 acres. The forest service put a box in one spot that takes readings and it reported the fire was moving 80 MPH at that time. The hay is short and pastures are cooked so please send rain.
