perched atop my rock
in the cool october breeze
distant cattle called in close through the rifle scope

physical pain not an annoyance now,
just a reminder that I'm still alive
time will heal all
and does not exist here

valley life spread before me
two thousand feet below
so easy to memorize the route
leading out of the maze
from up here where buckskin meets blue

Yes, I wrote it in my head from the top of the ranch yesterday... cowboy church service I'll see if I can get my wife to show me how to use the camera and go up later this week and take a few pictures.
