I was just wondering how many people out there pasture their cattle on wheat through the winter. Also what other winter grasses and/or crops do you guys use to winter.

I was just wondering how many people out there pasture their cattle on wheat through the winter. Also what other winter grasses and/or crops do you guys use to winter.

I sow wheat and ryegrass on bare patches, but what I do isn't enough to make much difference in hay consumption.

We graze on winter wheat and rye--cows look very "healthy" on it!

I don't graze the wheat fields. We plow then seed the wheat and if we turn the cows out in it they stomp more than they eat because it is not sod like the pastures.
