I need to buy some stockers for tax reasons , I would like to buy heifers to sell as replacements later : My question is, when buying stocker heifers at what age and weight is a heifer no longer a stocker ?
A stocker heifer is for grazing. Once she comes off grass and goes to a feedyard she becomes a feeder heifer. She becomes a replacement heifer when you put a bull with her when she is big enough to breed (approxiamately 65% of her mature weight).
