Right now and since April I have been receiving unusual and well above average amounts of rain. I am well understocked and my primarily Bahia pastures are well ahead of my cows. I would try to bale them for hay,but I am scared that with daily rain that the hay would get rained on and ruin plus the contract baler is way behind schedule at this time. It could quit raining today and I would probably have enough standing grass to last until September or October . I do not see buying stockers for the short term to be a viable option for many reasons. I do not wanna burn money and time on diesel to bush hog these pastures. I would love for the rains to stop at first frost and have plenty of dry standing Bahia for the late fall for the cows to eat along with a molasses block or range cubes. Does anybody ever had this similar problem with bahiagrass and how did you deal with it?

as said leave it standing or bale it when you can get the dry weather an some1 in to bale it.if not stockpiled forage works good to.
