One of the best if not the best red balancer bull i have raised. Unfortunately niether of his nuts dropped. Ended up trading him to my little 4H gal for a bull calf and now she has a new 4H steer to show. She had him halterbroke in a little over a week. He weaned at 205 days 730lbs.

Sorry about that. BUT its not a total loss, he'll make a good steer for the girl.

In the pic, is she blow-drying him or vacuuming him?

Katherine

Blowdryer. She starts em as soon as she gets em in the fall. By spring they follow her around looking for a bath!

Look at it this way, you've got lots of good ones and you can make more like him. It sucks but it ain't the end of the world... She needed a good steer and she's at a point in her life where one good one could be the spark that stays lit the rest of her life.

So 3Way, were you able to find his nuts to castrate him?
Ken

Had the vet do it. I could see and feel them up against his abdominal wall since we branded in may but they were under a membrane and had to be cut out surgically.

She's pretty sparky already but every little bit helps!

That says a lot about the temperaments of your cattle and it says a lot about the girl. :)

My yearling CC&7 heifer is being shown by a local gal. Doing okay this year but being beat for championships by older heifers.

he older sister just showed Champion Red Angus heifer at the North Carolina State Fair.
