What Is It With Shipping Colds?

Last Thursday I moved three steers from one of my pastures to my house to feed em out for customers. They are 850 lbs and healthy as can be, and very calm. They walked right on the trailer and I moved 'em a mile and a half. Two of the three came down with colds. How/Why does that happen?

Little change in the weather. Cool mornings and warm afternoons seem to do it every time.

Stress combined with low immunity. Were they vaccinated for any respiratory diseases?
Check their temperatures to make sure it's not shipping fever and only a cold.
I've had them get shipping fever moving 'em less than a mile.
