I need some opinions on a bull. I don't have a picture of the bull right now. We have been in the cattle business for a long time but mostly dealt with feedlot cattle and when we got into cow/calf we didn't even use registered bulls. That being said we now have a couple registered bulls and I would like to know what you think of this angus bull's EPD's. I can pick a bull that looks good but I just don't know too much about EPDs and would like your opinions.

He is a final answer bred bull and just turned three. He will be going out with around 40 3-5 year old black crossbred cows in a couple days.

Pretty good average set of numbers. Milk is too low for me but I don't know your environment, I would assume you could handle more milk in MN as well.

I'd go for bigger milk (around 20-25), ww (at least 60), and yw (at least 100). Calving numbers are good, and en is really good (because of low milk).

While those EPD numbers mean very little due to the .05 accuracy, they seem like they would do well for you, should they hold true. No calf data has been submitted. The EPD is based upon pedigree.

I would personally be most concerned about the 7 on CE. I prefer a 10 or more with BW of 1 or less. I hate pulling calves! Can't find much market for dead ones either.

By the data, it looks like a good solid bull.
