Ok I have a few areas in my pasture that need some work. For the most part (well maybe half) I've got pretty good coastal. But there are bare spots throughout and I also have cactus, mainly in those bare areas.
My plan of attack is to take a skid steer and go thru and remove as much cactus as possible, pile it up and burn it. Good idea or bad? Is there a better way of doing this?
Next I thought about buying some seed to fill in the bare spots. Thought about giant bermuda or bahia grass. Should I try something else or is one of these better than the other?
My soil is sandy and I'm in Central Texas. I will use the pasture for cattle and horses and want a perenial grass.
Open to suggestions.......thanks, ;-)
