Just had a person call from somewhere west of Houston TX wanting to rent me some grazing land here in VA. First thing he told me was he thought it was worth $3,000 a year. Said it was 93 acres with about 30 of that in timber. He said it was hillside with poor grass and might not have very good fence. He then said they wanted a lot of fertilize put on it. He had not seen it since 2008 and then only from the road at the bottom of the hill.
What in the world do people think when they come up with these ideas?
OH YES, who thinks I told him to hold it for me.

By any chance did you fill out a questionaire or a raffle at the farm show? I do hope you told them that your Liberian book keeper would send them a check quite pronto. If not for them to just keep checking their e-mails.

I did not think that people had gotten so far removed from the farm that they think we are getting rich with cattle and must rent their land. Guess I am the one not thinking.

Opportunities like that don't come along everyday Kenny. Better grab it quick; it won't last long. ;-)
