Since Monday afternoon last week, we've had 4 inches of rain. Most has come in nasty thunderstorms with all the extreme heat and humidity we've had. No hail until last night. Ice cube to golf ball sized stuff that levelled the neighbours peas and canola. Didn't seem to hurt our swath-grazing, and it rained through the night once the hail quit. The 100 acres of brome and alfalfa we seeded sure needed this. Things were looking a little dry there for a while after 4 weeks of nothing but 30 degrees and hotter.
Of course, we can't complain compared to the drought some of you are going through. Wish we could ship rain storms via FedEx or UPS. Wonder what Brown could do for us there?
