it is 11:30 at night and just got back to the house
had to have an emergency visit from the well repair company - 85,000 chickens and no water
2 pressure motors and neither was working
1 had broken wires and a burnt capacitor and the other motor is locked up

well, he got the one with the broken wires put back together and the capacitor replaced so now the 3 day old chickens have water again
and tomorrow he is sending someone out to replace the motor that is locked up

humm... anyone care to guess what this will cost???
got the well repairman out of bed, new capacitor, new motor, etc., etc., etc.

never a dull moment

So true- only it seems to go by weeks instead of days around here.
Old addage is true-- what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger.
But sometimes I wonder just how strong I need to be.

Yikes. Did you get a lightening strike? I hate being dependent on wells/pumps/electircity. I need more water storage.

had a bad storm a week ago but don't know if that was the cause - (didn't have chickens so no water demand)

the worst of it was, we had 20,000 gal in storage - this problem was in the water storage tanks - (2 tanks 10,000 gal ea) the pumps push the water to the well house and then to the chickens
