Weighed some of our calves the other day. 2 pastures done, the other group won't be home til later in Oct. We were pretty happy with the weights. Lots of rain, lots of grass, and we implanted the steers for the first time ever.
Our Mortlach pasture weighed on Sept 26, The oldest calf was born Mar 2 and the youngest Apr 19, mostly these were our oldest calves and out of our best cows.
35 Steers avg 639, with 7 of them over 700 lbs
20 Hfrs avg 564
Biggest calf was 793 lbs, straight Hereford, born March 2.
Our Mae's pasture, weighed Sept 28. Most of these calves were born after March 20. This is the pasture we use for cows we don't want to keep heifers off, or that we want to prove themselves for whatever reason.....It's easier to sell those nice heifer calves if they are sired by a terminal bull......

As far as actual growth rates, the avg ADG on them was
