Bottle calf or on the cow. Bottle calf when it's eating 2 lbs a day of good quality calf starter. On the cow about anytime depending on the condition of the cow, the forage available, etc. The traditional weaning age is 205 days. We've been known to wean as early as 150 days. Conditions dictate.

We start holstein calves on milk replacer and wean them at about 8 weeks . Our calves on the cows are weaned at 6-7 months , we weaned calves 3 weeks ago that were born from 4/29 - 6/8 . we sold them last week they averaged 662 lbs.
