she's got couple extra pair of white legs!

I like her hind end, she seems like she should have a decent udder, but with these pics I can't see how her chest/length really looks... she's not posing to her advantage. Do you know her weight?

She is about 650lbs. Born May 9th. She was a little longer legged then I liked, but she appears to be growing into them. Her dam is pictured below. I am thinking about selling her.

The heifer is better than her mother. The cow looks young, you might want to breed her to a Hereford. Red motley faced calves sell well.

Not the best picture of the dam. She looks scrunched up in this photo. She was bred when I bought her . She will get AI'ed to top gert bull this year then cleaned up with a registered hereford.

I think the dam could have a bit a deeper chest, and 650 lbs is about my minimum weaning weight for a 215 day old heifer, though if the heifer is a really nice animal, I'd leave her on milk for an extra month if the dam can handle it... My lightest keeper heifer this year was weaned at 195 days and about the same weight... she's just about 800 now

He is about a million miles south of you so weaning weights do not really correalate. Your avg cow probably outweighs his by 200lbs or more!

BTW that doesn't mean i don't like your heifers, just that it's an apples to oranges comparison!

3way, that is true, and I do like the look of the calf... Also, it take a lot of experience to judge the weight of a calf, and different breeds can look lighter than they are, and vice versa. That being said the heaviest heifer I kept this year was from my 17 year old cow who's not much more than skin and bones now... In her prime she was probably 1400, now it's probably closer to 1200. This coming year will be her last calf... Hope she makes one more heifer
