Someone smarter than me figured a chart on cost of cattle per year.
If they say a pair on summer pasture cost 30.00 a month and a replacement heifer cost 22.00 a month on pasture
And a bred cow on spring pasture is 7.00 a month

How would you break out the cost of the calf on that cows total per month??

I know every region has a different value because of grazing times. I just want a round number.

I see problems with the numbers you list. A bred cow is $7 on spring pasture and a pair is $30 on summer pasture. So that lactating cow and her grass eating calf require $23 or 304% more than she did while pregnant? I don't know how smart these people who put this together are. And I sure wouldn't be telling the world that they are smarter than you.

Are your pastures able to be cropped? I would think if they are, you should charge yourself crop rent prices. Although that usually makes the numbers very depressing since there is always some dumb b@stard willing to pay over his production cost so he can brag about his a acreage at the coffee shop :)
