Weaned calves at both places today. Two crews did great. Wife has replacements sorted, Calves are all sexed. Trucks for steer calves here in the am for the 200 Mile haul to the scales. Glad we give such good shrink to our buyers.........

Heifer calves that won’t have their chance at being a cow here head to a feedlot on Wednesday. Preg testing Nov 2, 3 and maybe 4 if we need a few hours to finish. Then cows go to winter range until the snow gets too deep.

Didn’t have time for photos today, hope to get some loading tomorrow or at the scale. Maybe Ron will be kind enough to post some for me again.

Send them to me, Dave. I would be glad to post them.

It sounds like you have regular buyers lined up for your steers, they know when they are onto a good thing.

Ken

Steers have been sold since July Ken. Thankful as market has softened considerably in the last couple weeks.

Glad it went well (so far! knock wood). I forget where you're located?

I live beyond the boondocks! Anahim Lake BC.

Looked it up. You're boony-boondocks! I've been to Kamloops, Prince George and the parks east of you. Pretty country

I would come up to help but Google maps says its a 42 hour drive. I look forward to the pictures.

I’d love to help as well. Was gonna leave in the morning but I won’t make it in time for preg checking. 3211 miles. 48 hours and 32 min. Guess I could fly. Would love to visit that part of the world. So different than here.

Dave,

My Google maps talks days not hours.
I am impressed by the corral. The height I bet solves a lot of issues.

The only way out is though a gate or the chute. :)

Thanks for all the replies, most heifers went to the feedlot yesterday while I was at the sale. Will get some photos of the replacement heifers after preg test is over on Sunday.

I did get another load of heifers bought yesterday. They averaged 506 @ $187.77. They are sorting one pen to be offered for breeding heifers with no implants and 2 pens of lighter heifers are being implanted.

Expect to get some photos of them on the 8th when we go down to see them all. Even the 8 Herefords I broke rules and bought. They are good despite their ancestry.
