In a forum or bb board, Mouseover is where you move your mouse cursor over a thread title and a little text window pops up giving a short sample of what is in the thread.

here's an example of a mouseover in a different kind of webpage but you get the idea--it's a preview.

a mouse over would be fine if it didn't disappear before you got thru reading the notes. and they don't work on a phone and most here (I tHINK) use that to browse anyway.
