We are overrun

Help Support CattleToday:

Some of our hayfields look like that when it gets into Dec/Jan and there is some green from the cover crops showing. Counted over 50 one night in the 10 acre field across from the house that we planted orchard grass in and they demolished it....

I didn't realize you had elk in your part of the world.

I would love to help you with your problem, how difficult are tags to get?
I'm not sure what the process is for non citizens. I know you would need a guide (that would be me ) and not sure what else. Season is closed now, limited entry cow hunts start Dec1. Open season Sept 1 to Oct 31. Open season they can be hard to find though.

It used to seem that if you shot an elk out of a herd, the herd would leave and we wouldn't see them for months.
Now they don't seem to be bothered by one of the herd bitin the bullet.

The wife saw what she said was over 100 of them just down the road at 7:30 yesterday morning. I have a cow tag which is good until Jan 1. But the tag is for the area south of the road. These elk come down into the fields south of the road at night. Then they cross the road and go back up on the hill during the day. So I was down there at the crack of dawn. No elk this morning. Just half a dozen deer. I keep doing my 20 minute elk hunt they will be there one morning.
