Well a few of you know that the puppy deal that I posted about earlier fell through, but life works in mysterious ways and we are getting a puppy out of the litter we really wanted one from to begin with, and early too. This will be our new border collie, she is sired by 2 time world stock dog champion Tex and the dams pedigree has the famous Gyp in her. Her dam Kia is a working cattle dog. There were two and the one we first picked had more white on her,but unfortunately she was spoken for so we get this one. She was born Nov. 11 and will be ready to go Dec. 22 just in time for Christmas and it will be our gift to each other. I told hubby if he really wanted to give me a gift he would house train her himself :lol2: . She is a tri color, smooth coat ,long hair.

Now we need a name and we do not agree on any. So any suggestions would be appreciated. Sires name is Tex and the Dam is named Kia.

Oh my gosh she is beautiful!!! Congratulations!
How abut Texa?
Or if you will have her as Christmas gifts to one another how about Noel?
Or maybe Tessie?
Or Hope?

Thanks CKC , I had my heart set on that white striped one, but so far everything has been happening for a reason so I will leave it up to the powers that be..

I mentioned Noel to Mr HD last night, the look I got was not a good one ;-) He named Steffie on the way home when we picked her up and I liked it right away, so maybe we will not come up with one until we meet her in person. Most that I come up with I already have a calf or cow named it, or someone else's dog is named it.

But keep them coming please ,as I am out of ideas . :help:

NIce puppy Hillsdown, glad things worked out for the both of you. Someone smarter than me once said that God rarely closes one door without opening another. Looks like he had his eye on the Hillsdowns.

Not sure why but I always liked the name "Kate" or "Katie" for a cowdog.

congrats on finally finding your puppy.i know she will be a great christmas present.an she is a lil cutie pie to boot.

There's always Sha-meek-wah, or Kenisha

The pictures are adorable! She sure looks fat and healthy. It's hard to pin down a name until you get to know their personality a little, IMHO. But since she's a Christmas puppy and Noel wasn't acceptable to Mr. HD, how about Holly?

Based on the pics hd, I am afraid your pup might have a drinking problem. :o ;-) I look forward to seeing her updated, I always enjoyed my pups more at around 5-6 weeks when their personalities start coming through. No guesses on the names, though I do like Holly.

oh I like Holley too! How about Chrissy!?
One of my very best friends (Chocolate Lab) was KD. She was the best girl...Missed her for a very long time.

Call her "Makseem" - I spelled it phonetically - sounds like it is spelled - equal emphasis on all syllables - proper spelling "Maksim"

Means enchanting.

or

Azeet - I spelled it phonetically - sounds like it is spelled - emphasis on last syllable - proper spelling "Azit"

Means courageous - or brave female

Lots of potentials if you look outside the box

Best to you and the new addition - oh, and hubby as well! 8)

We will definitely need more photos ;-) -I think she could be a Kayla/Layla or Chiquita but will only be able to say once she decides to open her eyes :D .

Congratulations. My wife's two show bitches are Kiya (long i) and Holly. I never call any of the dogs by their real call names, so to me they are Missy and Poopie. We have three others named Jeremy, Liz, and Frankie. To me they are Bullfrog, Wizzy, and Bubby.

HD,
She is adorable!
I like the fact that she has less white. We made a huge mistake in getting a dog just like my favorite, coco. We even named her coco. Such is the tradition on this farm. There are many laddies, and bennies etc. I fear the mistake was, in getting a dog that looked so close to the first one, coco II did not measure up to the first. Coco II is an excellent cattle dog, however her personality is not the same. So, in hindsight, getting a dog so close in looks, for me, not a great idea.
New puppy, new personality, etc.
No idea on a name, sorry
