well, not really.
The headline said we did tho--

Watch: Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel nearly impaled by storm debris

"nearly impaled by a flying 2x4".

- as a monster Category 4 hurricane is bearing down and blasting you with steady winds of 150 mph.

That's where veteran Weather Channel meteorologist Jim Cantore found himself Wednesday morning. He was standing near the shore of Panama City Beach in the Florida Panhandle, with Hurricane Michael's mighty winds whipping, when a block of wood flew through the air and nearly struck him in the head.

Looked like it missed him a good 10-15 feet to me.
You be the judge.

The comments are not kind.
It would not surprise me tho, to learn in a few days that one of his crew off camera tossed the 2x4 into the camera's view on purpose....

I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but that looked extremely fake. First, with 150 mph winds, why is the 2x4 going so slow? And notice how it's trajectory has it falling as soon as it clears the bridge? And why is a single 2x4 the only piece of debris?

Unless a 2 by 4 puts Cantore in the hospital I don't want to see anymore of his phony reporting. I don't wish no bad luck off on anybody, but it has to be real with him.

I would bet one of the camera crew did throw the board. What he did in Corpus when Harvey came in was a joke for sure.

Slow the youtube vid down to .25 speed and as it approaches 3 seconds, you will see 'something' happening on the extreme right side of the picture, a 1/2 second before the board appears but it is not clear what that 'something' is. I can't do a frame by frame, but some who can said it was obvious someone was holding the 2x4 right before it appeared in the air.
