Started watering the punkins this weekend. We haven't had rain for weeks. They still look good (much better than the field corn) but there isn't much chance of rain in the future. We hooked a 1250 gallon tank on to a flat bed and we can do 3 or 4 rows with a tank. We hope it'll hold them till it rains.

Interesting that some areas of the country don't plan for irrigation like we do in the south.

I would not plan anything here without a easy source of water nearby.

We don't need to irrigate here on a normal year. Haven't had a year like this since 1976.

I usually have something in the garden year round. We haven't had a .25" of rain in March. And we can count on a dry spell in May and October. Being able to irrigate mean the difference between a good garden or not so good garden for me.

I am sure it's going to be another interesting year here. We had very little snow again this winter for the third year in a row. The ground is still frozen solid too so I think it will be a late spring.
