Any one used one of the bumble bee or deep rock drilling system for a water well. If so what were the results,

My brother-in-law (you met him--the heavy set one-NOT the one with alziemers) has one--tho not sure if it's that exact brand or model. His doesn't look that tall or heavy. It's been sitting unused in the top of the old barn since 2007.
He drilled several water wells with it and I helped with the last of them. It is NOT a one man deal tho. It is slow, you have to be very careful--watch what the cuttings look like--and you need someone to keep the cutting/mud pit cleaned out while you are actually drilling with it, and keep the fluid in the pit full and enough viscosity to carry the cuttings out of the hole--especially if you hit some gravel. He didn't want to mix any gel after we got down about 35 ft, we hit gravel and instead of pulling the bit up, he wanted to try to just punch on thru it using just water. The gravel wouldn't come up the annulus and packed off around the bit and I ad to go get the backhoe to pull the string out.
If you're going to use one, get an extra swivel if you can. Packing starts leaking, you're in trouble. Wouldn't hurt to have an extra pump available either. His quit early in the process and I had to go get my 2X3 to try to finish with. We got down about 60' and he decided he didn't really want a well there anyway.
