You have pretty much earned your spurs if you can ride a mule while leading a group of Brahman over a bridge single file.

That's a great pic. Need that framed and on the wall and them gals will survive on briers and dog fennels.

Looks like that's what they are on now

If I have to ride a mule then I ain't going
It just wouldn't be right when I look over to admire my shadow and see them floppy ears :D

I was a mule man for many years. All out tb mares, and a fined bone jack. They are not for everybody, but they were for me. Reigning mules, and roping mules was my specialty.

I have roped off of some real good mules and have been around several good using mules
The man that started Western Mule Magazine was a neighbor of mine and he had some nice mules as did several others around where I grew up

So interesting when we know the same people on here. Mr. Tennison has done a lot for the mule industry.

You talking about the mule's ears or yours?

:P :P

Great Picture JW--but it looks like South America--not South La.
You know anything about ti?

I taped a national geographic program once years ago. It was made some where in South America. Everybody on it was riding a mule. They were bringing Brahman cattle out of a swamp for the winter. They would catch wild hogs, castrate them, and turn them back out to fatten up. Cooked beef in big 2 or 3 pound hunks like it was shiskabob. It was very interesting.

Funny that you say that because the photos are from a recent trip a famous photographer made to the Pantanal region of Brazil. They are hanging on the wall down there right now.

You can do a search for Jose Medeiros + Pantanal to see all of them.

The mules down in Brazil are the normal mode of transportation for the Gauchos.

They thrive where others die.

but you get docked for ear

Their ears are already docked lol Check out the notch on the left ear.

Leading them across that bridge is exactly right. You try to drive them and you have a mess on your hands. You can lead them anywhere. Patience is the key. They are not always ready when you are. So now I am wondering how long they stared at that bridge?
