VPN Express Scam-Beware

I used VPN Express to block other companies and individuals from problems that arise from the internet. In certain areas, they say it is great. Then in more areas they say it is one of the worst companies to get involved with. I am now finding out the last one to be true. They tell you that your old version is not going to protect you, so download the new version. Yeah, and then they stick you with two subscriptions. Actually, I had three at one time and asked them when I update, why do they not attach to the original instead of making a new one and then it just adds to the money they want to subtract from your account.
They offered a larger discount to upgrade, and did not honor it. This time it would be a bit over $5.00 a month and the bill came in as $10.00 a month. I cancelled all of my subscriptions and they still deducted the $10 a month all at once from PayPal.

I went to their site again and it did not show I had cancelled any of them as I did on line the day before. Went in there and cancelled all three and went to PayPal and it showed they had deducted the amount. I put a stop payment from PayPal and then write a letter to PayPal why I did it. Now I am asking for my money back.

Here is the fun part. I have an iMac that I never have trouble with. They downloaded a virus scam popup that constantly now pops up on my screen because I shut them down. On the popup it wants me to click on this button and it goes to a site "psereway.com" to get protection. I typed this in and the message I get back from this virus protection is:

"The company associated with scam pop-ups claiming viruses using the domain psereway.com is likely involved in tech support scams. These scams typically use alarming messages to trick users into calling fake support numbers or downloading malicious software."

Common Characteristics of These Scams

  • Fake Alerts: The pop-ups often claim that your computer is infected or at risk, using alarming language to create panic.
  • Imitation of Legitimate Companies: Scammers may use logos and branding from well-known tech companies to appear credible.
  • Request for Personal Information: Users are often prompted to call a number or provide personal details, which can lead to identity theft.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Do Not Interact: Avoid clicking on any links or buttons in the pop-up.
  • Close the Browser: If the pop-up is persistent, use Task Manager (Windows) or Force Quit (Mac) to close the browser.
  • Run Security Software: Use trusted antivirus software to scan your device for malware.
  • Stay Informed: Familiarize yourself with common scam tactics to better recognize and avoid them in the future.
If you encounter such pop-ups, it is crucial to remain cautious and not engage with them.

So, if any of you have VPN Express, and have as much trouble as I did from them, and you stop payment, this is what you will get. Half the time I click on sites and I am given a "You do not have access to this site because we are protecting our website from you."

I got this constantly when I try to log on to sites such as www.6666ranch.com.
Going to the VPN site to get help made me realize that they not who they said they were, and kept asking questions that they already knew. And they would type one sentence and be gone for 5 minutes, and come back and type one more..... repeat and repeat. I did this for an hour. Then it gave me time to really go over their site while waiting out of anger to see what was going on. Garbage!!!! If you go to independent sites of complaints, more are very unhappy. But go to VPN supported site with reviews, and everyone says they love them which I am sure are company employees writing these up. BEWARE!!

I now have to figure out how to get these Pop Up Scams off of my computer as if I accidentally click one, it could download. I hate they downloaded this scam ware on my computer. GRRRR!

I was able to delete VPN Express off of the computer and it took a bit of time. I have an iMac, and often my brain goes into hiding. I knew not to download anything that did not come off the Apple Application web site. It is a built in protection, but using a Firestick, I downloaded VPN Express like a dummy, and sure enough, they have scam ware attached. When you pull the subscription, it starts sending crap to your computer as they have a way in now. Going to try to scare me to subscribe again or punish me. No more downloading anything off of any site and I don't care who recommends it. So much is written about VPN, but if you go to legit sites about complaints, VPN Express is pouring over with problems of being crap. And it was. It did not help keep others from tracking me and I do believe it helped them to invade as things kept changing. The spyware at the end was not good as I got a popup that constantly came on the screen telling me I was infected. It had been two days ago that I shut them down and it started. On an iMac, often you can go in and delete your history back two days or all of it to get rid of something like this, and it worked. Then went into the library and deleted all VPN application patches as they were working still in the back ground.

VPN Express is really pushed for security. If you have problems, go to their chat and they write one sentence every 5 minutes and it seems to not go anywhere as they keep asking the same questions over and over. One guy said he was answering me on an iPhone. So, that is very low key.
Now you know what I know about VPN Express.
