Im trying to branch off from my dads operation and just took out a first year farmers loan in northwest Florida. The state is giving me a certain loan for medicine and veterinary supplies. I plan on buying 112 head of 4 month bred brangus from a local farmer but I dont know how much I should ask money I should ask for the veterinary supplies?? Is there a way to calculate per head? Thanks

We average about $30 a year per head for routine vaccinations and de-wormer, including disposable needles and syringes. Initial up-front cost for your initial stash will probably be in neighborhood of $250 to $300. De-wormer is the most expensive item (injectible or pour-on).

We purchase our supplies from Valley Vet. Alternate is Jeffers Supply.
