I haven't spent two bucks in the last week today wifes SUV needed gas. She is convinced there is a law about her not having to fill it up. When I got in I noticed the insprction sticker was due along with the tags.
By the time I got back to the house I had dropped 200 bucks with nothing to show for it. Also got the oil changed this morning in town.
If I could figure out a way to operate without an automoblie and Walmart for the wife I would be rich.

You're touching on a nerve there. I never understood why someone would only put a few dollars worth of gas in a vehicle. Some cars have never seen more than 1/2 a tank. My wife's car sees a full tank if we go anywhere in it.

Nerve number two: All the stations that want you to pay before you pump. How much is it going to take to fill it? It sure makes me like that ole maw and paw place that turns the pump on when I pull up. I'll keep trading there, except for when I make long trips and then I have to deal with the multiple trips to the register line and stand behind the lottery ticket buyers who aren't sure which scratch off they want.

I still fill up at an old country store that still has the wheels that turn for the $ spent and #of gallons. It is real hard to stop on an even number but when you pull up you wave at the lady through the window and she turns on the pump. Sometimes you have to wait for someone in a tractor to move though. Oh, and if you don't have your purse you can charge it and come back to pay later.

We have the same type set up here, but the woman that runs the place is usually in the bathroom, and you have to wait forever in the cold for her to turn the pump on.

Alice, Don't you just love it when all you want to do is hand them a card to hold to get them to turn the pump on, and there is three people in line trying to determine which scratch off they want? Once you get out there and get your fuel, one of them will have won and will be buying more scratch off tickets with the winnings and you are behind them in line again. I does indeed make you want to just hand them $40 and say, $40 on pump 7 please. I just can't imagine what it is like to buy $5 gas every single day, standing behind those lotto ticket buyers.

The pay at the pump thing works okay if its available.

Oh yeah...I don't go to anything that's not pay at the pump anymore. And, if you wanna see a "liberal" go ballistic...

Paydays...waiting in line at 5:15 p.m. for someone who's spending $100 of a $200 paycheck on those dam scratch off tickets...and while the guy at the register is hunting for the scratch off tickets requested and handing them back to the customer, the customer at the counter is scratching them off and redeeming all of them for more scratch off tickets!

I've definitely made an ass of myself in those circumstances...and actually made "conservative" remarks!

Boy, I can relate to that. I buy all my gas at one place because it is convienent and the people know me. I had to wait in line as above and I told the lady at the register when it was my time just how I felt about waiting on those "jerks" to buy and play. She apologized for me having to wait so long. I turned around to leave and noticed the lady behind me had a handful of tickets. I guess she knew how I felt!!

Where I buy gas,(H.E.B)they only sell gas and related items at the seperate station..to buy a lottery ticket there is a machine in the main store that spits them out ..

I usually buy my gas at one of the 20 Convenient stores that I clean their floors. I like to give my money back to those that give it to me.

But the other day I got gas at my favorite Filling Station in town. I do not clean their floors but still give them business time to time. Due to the good service they give.

They still pump the gas for you, the guy washed my windows and will check your oil if you want them to. All for the same price as the gas at the Casey's across the street. Time to time he will be 1 cent higher than others but usually he is the same price.

I never let mine get below a quarter tank. We had a rule where we worked that no one could go under half a tank. Trouble at my house is that sure as I fill it up, he needs to "borrow" the truck to go get some fool lawn mower or something and it comes back empty. I don't understand how anyone can start off on a trip of any kind with no gas. My husband will drive until the little reminder goes off that he's low on fuel, then he continues to drive for several miles.

DO YOU KNOW that he ran us out of gas ON OUR HONEYMOON? Literally 40 miles from anywhere, if you can count Leakey TX as anywhere.

Love him. He's such a dear.
