Velocity joint on my 16 ft batwing John Deere bush hog went out last week . Field had lots of terraces and I caught a rut coming off the end of one . Not sure if it was just time for it to go out or if I got it in a bind . JD quoted $1500 for their replacement and $1000 for an after market . Any ideas where I might get one cheaper ?

PTOdrivelines.com. Phone number is 330-466-2164. I got a whole PTO shaft through him for my rhino batwing. Very satisfied. Same guy runs multiple businesses. I had better luck by just calling and talking to him. He beat my dealers price by almost $700, but it was still over $800. They ain’t cheap.

Do you weld? There are all kinds of velocity joints in the wrecking yard.
 
I bought an afternoon several years back for a 15' Bush Hog brand and it $1,200. I'd be suprised if they went down in price.
 
Just talked to the gentleman that hogfarmer recommended. Super nice guy , I’ve got to measure and count my splines but I’ll probably buy from him . He’s in Ohio and if I ship to a commercial address, shipping is free .
