Is there an easier way to vaccinate your herd than with individual syringes? I've seen on RFD some type of "gun" used to give shots. Can you use it for shots that are not to be put in the muscle? If anyone can tell me if these are good to use, I will appreciate it.

The problem I've seen with the multiple dose type of syringes/guns is that it's hard to get a precise amount each time. We had one of the expensive gun types that you turn a dial each shot to give the selected amount, sometimes it worked right some times it gave more sometimes less.

All we use, yeah all sub q shots with like 1" 16/18 gauge needles, seem to be really accurate and a heckava lot faster, well worth it in my opinion. We use one from valley vet, can see it at valleyvet.com, its called the repeater syringe that holds 50mL (sorry cant paste the link for some reason.)

We use the Allflex repeaters and a Pro-Vet, I think, that has a tube from the bottle. I can see them being a little inaccurate, but not too much. When we processed this fall with the provet, we were right on with a 50 dose bottle. However, we did run short or had a little left on the vaccine we used the Allflex guns with. We set them on 2 or 5 cc and go.

They do save time, except for when you refill.
