The aircraft carriers USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), USS Enterprise (CVN 65), USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) are in port at Naval Station Norfolk, Va. US Navy Photo

(also pictured in the far background are 2 USN LHDs. Battaan is one--dunno about the other. Wasp?)
Search around--you'll find the story explaining WHY they (except BigE) are in dock. (It ain't good)

Just BS to stir folks up. The goverment folks trying show folks just how bad things is going to be if something ain't done. Fixing to cost the taxpayer a bunch more money.

That doesn't look real smart lined up like Pearl.

I agree. If I was a country that wanted to do us harm this would be a golden opportunity. If I was running the show this would never happen but then again I would have had some anti-aircraft emplacements around my headquarters to. But that's just me and my paranoia.

That is a far fetched as thinking civilian airliners would fly iinto the world trade center twin towers and knock them down.
Any sensible person would spot such a thought as paranoia. Same as thinking a foreign nation would bomb Pearl Harbor on a quiet Sunday morning. Would never happen.

Got lots of high grade fuel for those carriers north of the border.

Oops! Wait a minute. Your president Hussein does not want our dirty oil - so why would he want some of our fuel for your ships?

LOL

Seriously - Bad to tie up so much in so small an area

Best to all

It looks fishy to me. Almost like it's bait or something.
We went on a day trip to the USS Midway in San Diego two weeks ago and the USS Carl Vinson was across the bay from us and you couldn't have gotten within a half mile of that thing without getting blown to bits. There was a baracade surounding her and patrol boats buzzing all over the place. We watched a fishing vessel get escorted in no uncertain terms back to freindlier waters. The San Diego airport is right there next to the water but there was a ton of military air traffic just kind of hanging around.
After seeing all of that on the surface for just one ship(even if they did handle the big splash) I kind of wonder what's up their sleeve with a bunch of them just sitting there.

Affirmative - I know they are nuke powered.

Canada is either number one, two or three in the world for uranium production if memory serves me correctly - the worlds largest uranium mine right now is in northern Saskatchewan.

Canada has possessed the knowledge and technical know how to become a nuclear weapons capable country for many years - but decided to let the US of A spend the money - I believe this decision took place in the late 1950's or early 1960's. You folks used to have nukes stationed at a lot of our air bases back some years ago. Of course never confirmed or denied at the time. You are allies and why should we spend what we did not have at the time?

We are the worlds largest or second largest producers of radioactive isotopes - mostly used for medical research - and produced right about three hours from where I presently live.

The CANDU reactor is a Canadian designed and owned nuclear power plant that can be found all over the world.

Yeah, you need to power those little toy boats? We could do it for you.

As an aside I did a very short stint on the Saratoga many years ago. Quite a time - nuff said.

As I said - your president Hussein does not want our oil and I suspect he does not want our uranium - bet you continue buying your oil from those champions of human rights - the arabs in the middle east. Not sure where you might be getting your uranium though. Kazakhstan is a nice friendly islamic country and a huge uranium producer - perhaps from them?

That little backward country to the north of you has some amazing stuff that very few folks south of us know about.

Have a great upcoming week!

Thanks for the info. You had thrown in the bit about the keystone type tar sand oil so I wasn't sure.

It's not that we don't already have the enriched uranium, it's that they don't want to spend the $$ on it (bought from private companies) ("supposedly" don't have the $$ for it)

If cash can be found for Hussein telephones, Hussein health care, food stamps galore and more than one billion rounds of ammo for the homeland security folks (yeah, look it up sometime - enough ammo to fight a 30 year war) - it can probably be found for your protection. The problem is that buying uranium does not give money to the social dependants that rely on daily handouts - and therefore does not buy votes

This is nothing more than a smoke screen.

I am out of this conversation before I over step my bounds, but I am glad he is your leader and not ours.

May God help my country if we get one like him!

Be safe my friend.

I wouldn't wish anything like that on anyone, but admittedly or not, I believe our idiocracy still has an impact on you. How much better would both of our standards of living be, if we opened up the pipeline and started treating each other like allies like we should?

Crying shame, my truck likes dirty fuel. Goes good with the paint job.
