What in the he!! is wrong with people today? If I attend my kids graduation I don't give a crap about who sticks it to you, if you plan on banging the homecoming queen after you get your diploma or having to listen to you shoot off air horns after you kids gets a piece of paper that will be the highlight of their miserable life before incarceration. I am so fortunate to live away from people. I truly don't know how people can live in a house 30 feet from a neighbor. The older I get the less tolerant I am of lazy, stupid, arrogant sob's.
Used to be that the valedictorian speech demonstrated why they had the highest grade point average, as years have passed I also wish this honor could be bestowed on someone who can design a part or process in their head and then go out and build it. Used to also have someone who had made something of their life give a speech to the graduates explaining how life works and how to be successful.
