They eat that corn like it was free :D Sometimes this is what you see under the deer feeder

I hate rooters. I turned off the feeder by the house a couple years ago.
I loved to watch the deer and quail by the house. All I got was hogs guarding the feeder and tearing up the Mrs yard.

That would be the perfect time to have some 00 buckshot! I'm looking it to getting one of those low power feeder lights. Does anyone have one? Do you like it? Does it put off enough light so that you don't need a seperate scope light?

I have one and they work great, Check out this web sight http://www.feederlights.com/ Look at the top left of my feeder, you can see mine and they are legal for hunting hogs. I have mine attached to the feeder pointing down but you can set them up anywhere. There are many kinds, I have a 12 volt (solar charger), on at night, off at daylight set up. The light does not bother the deer or hogs, I guess they think its the moon or sometinng. Don't get a cheap one.

Go to an auto parts house and buy some 12 volt light bulbs, they look like a regular bulb you can run off a car battery. Get a red Marks a lot and color the bulbs. Wire a couple up around your feeder to a battery they will walk right in for some reason the red light doesn't bother them.

Ever trap one of those hogs with a foothold trap? Wish I had some of those to shot, nothing here for another month until those dang robins show up.

Thanks, I will check those out. CB- do you use a marine battery so it doen't hurt to run it down?

I don't think a leghold trap would work on hogs, their lower leg and hooves are not padded w/ much meat/fat and strait up and down and would be pretty easy for them to pull them out of the trap. I could be wrong though, I've never used that type of trap.

Is the light you see in the picture from the camera or the feeder light? I guess that is a low light camera though.

That's exactly what will happen. Same thing with deer.
